ST. LOUIS – MC Industrial, an independent McCarthy company created to provide general contracting, construction management and design-build services to industrial clients nationwide, has been named general contractor for three fast-track projects: a $7.8 million body shop addition and mezzanine at Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Inc., in Princeton, IN; a $6.5 million building addition to the casting plant at Bodine Aluminum in Jackson, TN; and, a $5.5 million foundation package at the Coors brewing and packaging plant in Elkton, VA.
MC Industrial will flex its self-performance muscle to complete these short turn-around projects. “Our ability to self-perform virtually any contracting task, along with our nationwide network of equipment yards, means we can plan and react quickly to achieve the client’s schedule and budget goals,” said Tom Felton, MC Industrial president.
Project crews began foundation work this month at Toyota’s Tacoma SUV and Sienna van manufacturing plant in Princeton, IN. The project will add 80,000-square-feet to the existing body shop and a 20,000-square-foot mezzanine over the final line. Project completion is scheduled for February 2006.
At Bodine Aluminum, Inc., a Toyota-owned manufacturer of aluminum engine blocks and parts, MC Industrial has mobilized to build an 85,000-square-foot addition to the engine casting plant. Project completion is scheduled for December 2005.
As part of a $160 million upgrade to its Elkton, VA plant, Coors awarded MC Industrial a $5.5 million foundation and underground piping project for the company’s new brew house, fermenting area and auxiliary building. MC Industrial is self-performing all foundation work and will complete the project in six months.
